A practical evening for local vets
CT can provide extraordinary detail, but the most useful scan starts long before the patient enters the scanner. Knowing when CT is likely to add value, choosing the right anatomical area and asking the right clinical question can make advanced imaging far more useful in everyday practice.
Join us for a case-based journey through the body, exploring a variety of real clinical presentations and how patient signalment, history and presenting signs can be used to target CT imaging and support clinical decision-making.
The aim is simple: you should leave with greater confidence about when to consider CT, what information it can add, and how EKVR can support you and your patients locally when advanced imaging would be useful.

What you’ll take away
Through real, case-based examples from across the body, the session will help you make more informed decisions about when and how CT could benefit your patients.
Identify presentations where CT may provide clinically useful information beyond radiography, ultrasound or your initial work-up.
Use signalment, history and clinical findings to target the area of interest and define what you need the scan to help answer.
See how CT findings can refine differentials, influence treatment planning and help determine the most appropriate next step for the patient.
Build confidence around when advanced imaging is appropriate, what information is useful when referring and how to get the most from the referral process.
Your speaker
BVetMed, BSc(Hons), CertAVP(GSAS), MRCVS, PgD AVPS
Presented by Andy Banerjee, RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery. Andy leads EKVR’s advanced surgical service and brings more than a decade of clinical experience across first-opinion hospitals and specialist referral practice. Alongside his surgical and orthopaedic work, he has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and uses CT routinely to support case investigation, surgical planning and clinical decision-making.
The evening will be informal and case-led, with plenty of opportunity to discuss the practical questions that come up when deciding whether CT could help a patient.
Keeping it local
We want the evening to be useful, relaxed and a chance to spend time with colleagues from practices across our local veterinary community.
In keeping with EKVR’s focus on local veterinary care, we’ll be serving a selection of Kent cheeses alongside local wine from Barnsole Vineyard, with non-alcoholic refreshments also available. We’ll be welcoming guests from 7:30pm, giving you time to enjoy some refreshments and catch up with colleagues before the CPD session begins at 8:00pm.
