Keyhole Surgery

Keyhole Surgery

Just as keyhole surgery has advantages in humans, the same opportunity now exists for our pets. Keyhole surgery is minimally invasive surgery involving passing a camera and specialised instruments through tiny incisions in the body wall. We are proud to be one of only a few vets in the Canterbury and Thanet area to be able to provide this innovative service for both dogs and cats across Kent.

What are the benefits?

What are the main advantages of keyhole surgery compared to traditional open surgery?

  • Faster recovery for patients
  • Less painful after surgery as incisions are much much smaller
  • Better visualisation and magnification of the body cavity
  • Reduced risk of postoperative complications
  • Reduced internal trauma due to delicate instruments

We even have a miniature kit to allow us to offer this service to small patients, our equipment allows us to perform keyhole surgery on dogs and cats from one to 100kg!
