Orthopaedic Referrals

East Kent Veterinary Referrals (EKVR) provides an advanced practitioner lead orthopaedic referral service for veterinary practices across Kent, supporting the investigation and surgical management of complex musculoskeletal conditions in dogs and cats.

We accept referrals for a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including acute and chronic lameness, joint disease, and complex limb pathology. Our service encompasses both diagnostic work-up and surgical management, with access to advanced imaging and on-site surgical facilities to support thorough case assessment and planning.

Procedures may include, but are not limited to, cruciate ligament disease management, fracture repair, patellar luxation surgery, joint stabilisation procedures, and selected corrective osteotomies.

Referring a Case

Orthopaedic referrals can be made via our online referral form, and we welcome informal clinical discussions for advice on case suitability or next steps. Our aim is to provide accessible, high-quality orthopaedic support that complements your first-opinion service and keeps advanced care within the local community.

Clear, timely communication is central to our referral ethos. Referring vets receive detailed updates, operative reports and postoperative plans, with patients returned to your care for ongoing management wherever possible. We view orthopaedic referrals as a partnership, supporting you and your clients at every stage.
